Metal Retrofit Types
Metal Retrofit Roofing refers to a roofing system installed over an existing corrugated metal roof, typically found on fabricated metal buildings. There are three basic options:
Single Ply over Metal - this option includes flute filler, dens deck and a single ply membrane.
Metal over Metal - standing seam metal panels are installed on top of the existing roof. Adding insulation in between the old and new roof system is optional.
Coatings - Elastomeric roof coatings is an option that gives the hydro protection but not thermal.
Cost differences are minimal between the three systems. Location (weather patterns) and what is the building used for will be determining factors in which roofing system to use.
